A failed Black Ops mission, code name OPERATION: Hammerhead, results in the deaths of all but two comrades, Lieutenant Helena Spearling and Mitch Ryan.  To protect her identity, Helena is reported as a casualty of a failed mission.   
 
Three weeks after Helena wakes up in an army hospital, she is informed she will be working under the code name SPEAR.  She is assigned to a secret military department called G.A.T.U. (Global Anti Terrorist Unit) in the mountains of Grenoble, France.
